ATEX Certification - Manometers & Thermometer (liquid expansion)

Dear All,

I'm new in this forum, hope to be able to help with my replies and I'm sure I'll get help from you!
At the moment I have a problem related to pressure indicator (manometer, mechanical) and thermometer (expansion fluid, very basic type): do they need really an ATEX approval, is it necessary for both cathegories?

If they are not capable of causing an explosion by acting as a source of ignition, they shouldn't need ATEX approval. Based on what you stated, I'd say no.

If they're stand-alone indicating devices then probably not. If they have switching contacts for alarms / trips then they'll need certification.
