I am currently trying to find an ATEX approved 24VDC motor for use on a portable flow prover. The only thing I have been able to locate so far is a small servomotor or very large equipment. We are in need of approx .5 kW. If anyone has information on this search your help is greatly appreciated. I am beginning to wonder if this type of motor is even available.

Thank you,

Assuming its not a Brushless type of motor you are looking for you will find that ATEX approved DC motors are very rare things, a potentialy explosive atmosphere and brushgear that generates sparks in normal operation is not a good combination, but I remember this question being asked once before and someone quoting the name "Precilec"

Baldor definitely have a range of explosion-proof motors with North American hazardous area classification in the size range you're looking for. I'm not sure if they have ATEX certification on the equivalent IEC range, but a phone call costs little to check.
