Hello,

I am trying to source an ATEX CAT 3D keyboard for use within a zone 22 dust environment. The keyboard can be a simple querty style. I have found CAT 2G & 3G keyboards from suppliers such Extronics, Bartec, Stahl etc but none seem to have got their act together and obtained the dust approvals.

I would appreciate any pointers.

Regards

Steve.

If its ATEX category 3D (zone 22) it is possible that you can write the conformance document. The device must be safe in normal operation for category 3 & with reference to the standards EN502581-1-1:1998 & EN50281-1-2:1998 you may be able to find a standard IP65 sealed keyboard from manufacturers like CKS or read-consine who also meet the impact requirement, all you then need to do is justify its "normal" use in zone 22 & document it as you would a technical construction file.
