Hi everybody, I wouls to know if there is someone who could help me with a simulatuion. I´m trying to recreate the Inrush current in the BCTRAN model of the ATP and I don´t know how to insert the saturation data into this model. I really would appreciate any helpful hint about this.

Thank you,

Hi Arango,

I have never try to simulate inrush current using ATP but can give you some advise in entering saturation data into your model. As far as I know, you will not be able to use BCTRAN to simulate saturation and hysteresis. I would appreciate it if you can let us know if you do find a way to do it.

You will have to use the SATURATION TRANSFORMER model (IV.E of the Rule Book). This will require that you build your own transformer model based on an ideal transformer, saturation curve, magnetising resistance and winding inductance/resistance calculated from the short cicuit and open circuit tests reports. You can also add hystersis using "HYSDAT" (XIX-H).

Hope this will help you.
