Atrium Design

First time poster...looking for advice.

I have a building that has the first floor open to an atrium that connects to a skylight at the top. Essentially, its a glass box that is within the second floor.

I am currently returning the first floor air from the top of the atrium so that the air is pulled through the space.

Does anyone have experience with this type of building condition? I am concerned about condensation. My climate is humid and requires almost all year round cooling.

Would suggest using the principles of displacement ventilation by having the cold air supplied near the occupied zone and air returned near the roof glass.This would help you apportion a substantial part of roof solar gain to the return air stream thereby reducing the air flow requirement.Condensation will not be an issue as the air temperature below the glass will be high probably 5~6 C more than the occupied zone temperature.
