Attributes into spreadsheets...

Anyone know if we can pull NX part attribute values directly into the modeling spreadsheet? I can get exprvals but not about an attribute format if there is one.

What would you like to do with them if/when you get them in the spreadsheet?

A couple of uses...we want to use the values in further calulations and alos for output into documentation. Another goal is to keep model up to date with attributes which supplied by customers through teamcenter.

After you have opened your Modeling Spreadsheet, select the Spreadsheet main menu-bar tab labeled 'Add-Ins' and then with the cell selected where you wish to start the insertion of the attribute names and values, select the menu item labeled 'Extract Attr'.

Once the Attribute names and values have been loaded you will will be able to tell which are Part Attribute (the part name will be included in the attribute name field inside of quotes) and Attributes assigned to Reference Sets (the Reference Set name will also be include in the attribute name field name inside of quotes) and the attribute type will be abbreviated and shown inside of parentheses, such as (str) for string, shown after the attribute name.

Now if you wish to extract an Object Attributes from something inside the part file, you will need to use one of the 'object specific' spreadsheet functions. To find more material on what these functions are and how to use them, go to your User Documentation and search on "Object-related functions" and you will find a complete listing of these function as well as information on how use them along with some simple examples.
