We have an ATV frame that was recently painted. This is not a production job. It's a prototype. Apparently, the employee who did the work did not have sufficient experience with this type of geometry. In other words, he did a hack job. He neglected to completely cover the entire surface of the frame tubes where they come into contact with the floor of the vehicle. We know this because somehow a small amount of water accumulated along this contact area, and when we blew it out with compressed air, the water was rust colored. So we have a rust problem at this hard to reach location. Since the frame tubes and the floor are welded into place, and the entire frame has been painted and clear-coated, there is no option to disassemble the components to fix this.
Can anybody suggest a product that could be used to prevent the rust from spreading? Anything that we could paint into these tight spots by hand to avoid having to completely strip down and re-paint the entire frame? Thanks in advance for your comments and suggestions.
