Please,
I want to install Autocad 2000 on Windows XP, but it was impossible to me. Would you give me a solution for this problem. My email is jlchm@hotmail.com
Thanks
First: what version of windows xp are you using (home or pro)?
Second: At what point are you having problems, and are there any error messages you could share with us?
I just recently installed A2K on a xp home addition with no problems; however, this doesn't seem to hold true for every machine.
Last: was your windows xp a clean install or an upgrade?
OEM copies and upgrades of XP home apparently have horrible problems with installing 2000. The professional (both OEM and clean install) have had absolutly no problems installing both 2000 and 2000i on several different machines last month. Everything went smooth until we started installing it on peoples home PCs. Only 2 out of 11 installs worked.
If you do not have XP Pro sadly you may want to fork over $399 for it.

See messenger's comment above. This worked for me as well on an OEM version of Win2K Pro. You may have to copy the installer file locally to change the compatability mode setting.
Hello All:
Windows XP Home Ed. and XP Pro are exactly the same program with the exception that Pro has Network capabilities and Home doesn't. Therfore if you are running a stand alone machine, save the $400.00 and buy HOME ED.
