Hello!
I’ve got a DWG file. It’s AutoCAD 2004 file. When I’m trying to open it in my AutoCAD 2010 it gives an error: Cannot open file. The file may be a DWG or DXF file, it may not be in a supported version of the DWG file format, or it may be corrupted. Check the file and try again.
How to recover it? I have no sense how to fix it.
Thanks

You could try to insert it into a blank drawing

If you are not planning to alter the file, you could use transform the DWG file into CutePDF and then insert the CutePDF file into 2010 with the OLE command. Under the OPTION command, 2010 should tell you if the 2004 can be opened if this command is available in 2010.

Once I'd got a 2004 dwg file but modyfied with ZWCAD. When my customer tried to open it with AutoCAD LT 2008 he get the same problem.
The solution was only open with AutoCAD 2004 and copy all the stuff to new dwg file.

You could try Autocad's drawing recover function.

Hi,
Try these steps .
1. rename the file to ".zip "
2. open the zip-file with Winzip or WinRar (these programs has a repair-function for zip)
3. try to repair the file
4. then extract the riffdata.cdr from content-folder of zip-file and open this file in CorelDRAW

Or see more http://www.filerepairforum.com/forum/cad-tools/cad-tools-aa/coreldraw/707-%E2%80%8Bcoreldraw-corrupt-file-repair

See if you can convert using Trueview. Sometimes files just bite the dust.
