I had the 30-day trial for Inventor 11 loaded and after the 30 days uninstalled it. Now every time I start AutoCAD 2004 I Get the following when I try to open an existing drawing or try to save a new drawing:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Program Files\AutoCAD 2004\acad.exe

This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

It then crashes AutoCAD. I can open an existing drawing by opening a folder in explorer and clicking on a file. It gives the following warning:

Exception in C:\Program Files\AutoCAD 2004\AcSign.arx ARX Command

Unhandled Exception E06D7363 (e6d7363h) at address 7C812A5Bh

If I click "OK" I can now open and work on files like I normally would but if I quit I have to open a file as described above or it crashes again. I would prefer to not have to reload AutoCAD again as I fear losing my mods to the toolbars that I have made. Any Ideas?

Thanks,
Steve Smith

I found this post. Use at your own discretion! Otherwise, I would save your customized menus and reload ACAD.

<<<<<AutoCad 2004 Hangs when opening or saving a drawing and using acsign.arx

Any help on why 2004 hangs-up for 45 +/- seconds when opening files
from one server but not another. This also happens on some clients but
not others.

After some investigative work debugging with the registry, I have
discovered that the registry key
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R16.0\ACAD-201:409\Applications\A
cadSign] refers to the acsign.arx file.
If I delete the key or rename the file, the problem appears to be
resolved (i think). I don't think it is advisable to just delete the
file perminantly as I am not too sure exactly what it does.

I have compared the arg to that on the computer that doesn't appear to
have this problem and they are the same. I also have compared the
Applications registry entries from the two machines and they appear to
be the same.
Thanks in advance!!!>>>>>>

"Fix" autocad via "add/remove programs" in windows + autocad disk.

Inventor deletes shared autocad files during installation and then deletes them upon uninstallation of inventor. Depending on your version of autocad (2005 or greater) a lot of other useful things were removed as well.
