Hi All, Has anyone been using the new Storm and Sanitary Analysis (SSA) software within Civil 3D 2012 to do all their Hydrologic and Hydraulic analysis?

Any opinions on it? Is it time to look into switching from HydroCAD and Hydraflow? Interested to know people's thoughts. The new SSA program packaged with Civil 2012 looks intersting.

Thanks

I'm currently using the 2011 version. If your familiar with EPA SWMM then it should be breeze since it uses the same engine with an updated GUI. Although even if your not familiar with it, it shouldn't be too hard to hit the ground running with it. Autodesk is fairly good with workflows, tutorials, and manuals for its products (the ones for Civil 3D look like a tech version of the Lord of the Rings novels). I've been using it for basically most of my hydraulic analyses. It's a fairly powerful program but like most, you have to be very cognizant of the many inputs, parameters, and limitations that it has.

I love watching my water levels rise and fall in the output animation window, but then again I'm easily entertained.

FYI, Autodesk acquired Intelisolve, so Hydraflow is now part of the Civil 3D package, so you get both programs.

I used Hydraflow for H&H analyses before it was incorporated into Civil 3D, and I've used it afterwards. You have to be a little careful with how you name your pipes and in matching up your Civil 3D and Hydraflow parts, but it's all well documented - RTFM and you'll be golden.
