autocad Mechanical 2005 / Autocad 2005 custom tool bars

Weve recently upgraded from r2000i to Mechanical 2005 / autocad 2005.

Ive created my own custom toolbars in mechanical thinking that all i had to do was COPY the 'support' folder from within the mechanical program and PASTE/overwrite the appropriate folder in the autocad 2005 program.
However I then noticed that when I made mods to the toolbars in Mechanical the chancges were saved in the following:
C/program files/Autodesk/AcadM2005/Acadm/
ACADMAC.mnc
ACADMAC.mnr
ACADMAC.mns

But, on doing a quick check i found Autocad 2005 saves any toolbar changes to a support folder in:
C/Douments and Settings/*my profile name*/application data/autodesk/autodesk mechanical 2005/r.16/enu /support/
acad.mnc
acad.mnr
acad.mns

The two programms APPEAR to be the same - they are indeed part of the same installation (Mechanical having the additional mechanical modules if you follow) - its just that Autcad 2005 fires up quicker and it would be better to have both programms runnning with the same toolbars.

Does anyone know an easy way to allow me to copy my custom toolbars from Mechanical 2005 to Autocad 2005? Note - none of custom toolbars have any commands which would not work in the other program - its just my preferences for icon layout.

We use Mechanical also. Our method is create a new separate set of toolbars for use and to leave the base toolbars alone. You can use any of the commands from your existing toolbars. Note!, the Mechanical Modules do not load in "Vanilla"" AutoCAD and commands used in Mechanical are not available until you load them. That is why it takes longer to load in the first place. Thanks for the reply borgunit.
Like you I have created a separate set of toolbars in Mechanical 2005, leaving the original standard toolbars switched off. The problem is copying these toolbars into ACAD 2005, so I have the same icon layout whether I open Mechanical or 2005.
Is there a simple way or do I have to create new custom toolbars separatley for each program

You can set your session like you want and then export a profile to retain those settings. That is how you can switch from Mechanical to Vanilla in the first place. Give it a try while in ACAD. Try switching profiles.
