Hello, I've just joined. I've used Autocad for the past 14-years. Now a new job will take me into the Microstation world!
What is the best route to use for learning this new and wonderful platform? I've never used Microstation, just seen it a couple of times.
Thanks,
Daveo1

You might want to check out this site for starters...

A couple of months back there was another site
that had an excellent free online course. I think they took it offline though. If someone had a copy of it to email you it would help alot. I'm still looking to see if I had a backup of it somewhere. I used it to learn microstation when my company gave me two weeks to learn it before they sent me off for a three month field assignment by my self. If I can find it I'll post the complete tutorial here.
Hope this helps some,
Don

Has Daveo1 gotten his answer yet? I am also an ACAD lifer now having to deal with MicroStation for a living. I need to get a source of knowledgable assistance. I took a "migration" (2 day) course and have gotten nothing out of it. Wasted money!!

I checked out the Grabowski book and out of 8 reviews only one guy said it was worth the money. So where do I go?

What amazes me is my company has been a uStation house for years now, and the in-house users I ask for help, haven't been too helpful. It is like a new world every day.

As a Microstation user for 20 years and with some Autocad experience, I can say without a doubt you will enjoy Microstation. One website which is very helpful is She is very helpful and some some great articles and contributing guests from Bentley. Here is a article on Autocad user to Microstation.

Bentley has some free self study courses and webcasts, as well as instructor-led classes around the country which range from $800 to $1500 a person. They will also come to you. Technical support is free and really great.
