Hi guys,
I would like to simulate a Linear Static simple Welded cantilever beam in Inventor.
The Cantilever beam is rectangular cross section and is welded to wall.
I am trying to validate the weldment feature in both inventor and autodesk simulation,
I am not sure whether both the codes are same, for example Autodesk simulation was previously called Algor.
Case 1:
In inventor the weld surface are by default bonded contact constraint, I think it just does a Simple FEA calculation,i dont think it considers the weld parameters.
Case 2:
In autodesk Simulation, when i import all the Inventor assembly with the weld beads and run the simulation it takes the contacts as welded surface, when i run the FEA simulation it shows really good results.
But i am not sure whether these result are real,in fact both the inventor and simulation results are not the same.
Is it really good/advisable to use Inventor/Simulation to perform large welded assemblies static analysis.
If not please are there any other good softwares which can perform large fillet weld analysis.
Thanks
