In case it impacts anyone here as well Autodesk is experiencing a total outage of there cloud services which means things like BIM360 are not accessible. Joys of the cloud.

I'd say about 50% or more of our Revit projects are hosted on BIM360. Some of the bigger firms I've worked for were closer to 90% of all Revit projects hosted on BIM360.

I suspect there are quite a few people twiddling their thumbs around the world right now.

Seems to me that if they want to force us on to subscriptions then they should compensate us for the down time due to their own issues.

Another reason to go back to the days of manual drafting with tee squares, triangles, circle templates, and french curves. The only time I remember having an outage was running out of lead.

@ MotorCity, No way. It was fun why it lasted, but no.
Its like saying, "bring back the fax machine, beats email everytime"

Erasing mistakes is easier in autocad. You can't go through the tracing sheet.

Not nearly as fun as going to town on vellum with an electric eraser though.

Looks like things have been gradually restoring, imagine the support staff experienced some less than cordial conversations today. The unfortunate reality is there will be no repercussions from this as they have the industry by the short ones.

My wife introduced me to an amazing modern invention known as erasable pens. Now I can go 'old school' without needing the electric eraser.

Decide fast on the erasable pen. I preferred plastic lead on mylar.

When used on paper, erasable pen can be erased days after it is written. Don't know about it on mylar or vellum. I love them; as a lefty, I've always struggled writing in pencil without smearing everything. To avoid that, I use 2H lead, but then it's so light the copier doesn't pick it up sometimes.
