Hi All,
I'm pretty new to NX and I'm trying to automate a siemens NX to ANSYS APDL import (this is done in Phoenix Modelcenter). I my mind, four possible approach are possible, but I'm running into problems for each approach. An import note here is that I can automatically save files as .prt, .stp or .igs within Phoenix Modelcenter.
- .prt Here I receive an error from ANSYS APDL, stating the .anf file is missing. I'm not sure what this means.
- .stp There seems to be no way to import .stp files into ANSYS APDL.
- .igs I get some warnings from ANSYS APDL, with the end result that it doesn't detect any volumes. I do believe this issue resides at the NX side, since the .igs files I used during an ANSYS course import perfectly fine (and these geometeries are quite complex). Importing is also fine when I use extremely simple shapes, such as a simple cube. Once I add a hole however, volumes are no longer detected.
- .x_t (parasolid) This import also works perfectly well but I don't know how to automate the generation of these files. Ideally, I would like to save a copy in this format each time the model closes for example.
- Alternatively, I could see myself running a very simple cmd line that opens a .prt , .stp or .igs and saves it as .x_t. But I'm not sure what program to use.
If anyone has any ideas or any direction, it would be very much appreciated.
I have attached my super simple .prt file to this thread.
