Greetings all,

We recently installed v2008 and there are a couple of users that are experiencing a problem when closing drawings. Normally after a change is made and you close the drawing or the AutoCAD session you'll get a dialog box asking if you want to save changes; Yes, No or Cancel. In this case no dialog box appears, the drawing is closed yet all the changes are saved. Convenient perhaps but not always the desired course of action one wants to take.

Anyone know what's going on here? I looked for a variable for this but could not find one.

Thanks

Hi FredWilliam,

By any chance are any of your users using any third party software or add-ons for AutoCAD - maybe something they found on the net somewhere? It's possible the close command has been redefined via a custom VBA or LISP routine. The other thing to check might be the CMDDIA and FILEDIA variables, these control command dialogs and file dialogs respectively, and maybe these are just set to 0 and your user is just missing the prompt.

Press "Ctrl" and "s" on the keyboard at the same time and then close the window to avoid the "Save changes..?" window.
Sometimes changes made in drawings might not be expected to save.
