I mainly do land developement, no major traffice issues. However, for some projects I have limited space. I want to know if anything exists similar to AutoTurn that will show me if my design vehicle will be able to access the site and manuever within the parking lot for freight delivery. I understand that AutoTurn is the most popular, but who can blame me for wanting to save a little money.

Thanks

Even simpler is to use a paper template of your own making. The back of an old file folder works well for the material. A simplified scale drawing of the design vehicle with a "tongue" equal in length to the turning radius and a push pin completes the model. Pencil, paper, pins, = +/- < $1.00. Knowing how to use them = about $800.00 savings.

good luck

I do need something I can generate in AutoCad. I'm looking more into the AutoLISP. Haven't made any progress yet.

The scaled cut-out is a great idea... I just need something on a plan sheet.

Thanks

I don't know of another software like AutoTURN but I would strongly suggest you use something other than paper templates. I have seen blocks in cad files that people drew from templates and while they would demonstrate that a vehicle could make the turn, AutoTURN has shown otherwise.

Templates don't consider the angle of an approaching vehicle and if you have ever run AutoTURN to back a large truck into a loading dock you will never suggest a template again. They drive the way you might think they would.

Good luck. I would be interested to know if you do find another program like AutoTURN. I too would be interested in the savings.
