I have a condition in my design drawing, beams having axial loads indicated. My fabricator preferred connection is bolted-bolted clip angle for beams. Web side shop bolted with STD holes and OSL field bolted with short-slotted holes. Anyone help me whether this connection will work with axial loads. Also please help me, if the connection is shear tab with short slotted holes i must use SC connection instead of bearing at axial load conditions. Please add what are the other preferred connection i can use for axial load beams and connections that should not use.

Depends on the axial loads. It isn't uncommon for shear tabs and bolted clip angles to be used where axial loads are present in beams. A standard cross-braced (tension braced) multistore structure has beams the undergo axial loads.
