Hi,

I have created the bracket shown in the picture bellow.
Unfortunately, I haven't done the design in the car position so I decided to reposition the sketch in the right position (using as a reference an old bracket from the main assembly).
I've chosen "Axis To Axis" from the GSD "Transformation" (Axis System.4 to Axis System.5).
As you see in the picture, the sketch remain in the old position (only the solid has moved).
My questions:
1. Why the sketch has not moved?
2. How should both the sketch and solid move from one Axis to the other one?
3. At the end, how could I delete both Axis, but keep the move modifications? (the potential future users may get confused, by not understand why the file has those two Axes Systems).
4. Is there another option (instead of "Axis To Axis") to move a sketch (geometry) from one location to another?

Thanks

P.S. I also attached the CATPart file, for better evaluation (Catia V5-6 R2016)

Why not make the Sketch a Positioned Sketch and create your construction geometry at Car Position?

For Example:

[ol 1]
[li]Create a Plane Through a Planar Curve at the Destination Axis System (assuming this is a mating hole location).[/li]
[li]Create a Point at 'Circle\Sphere Center'[/li]
[li]Create or Modify your existing Sketch to a Positioned Sketch, defining the Sketch origin at the point and the Sketch support as the Plane[/li]
[li]Keep in mind, you will need to move your sketch geometry to be created around that focus point to ensure correct location[/li]
[/ol]

Thanks Doug,

I will try to follow your advise right now.

here is the answer to the why question.

When you apply the axistoaxis function to a feature, you create a new feature that is the result of the axistoaxis transformation. so you make a sketch, a pad on the sketch, axistoaxis the pad = the sketch is in the same position. if you edit the pad (or the wall feature in your example), you will see it did not move. it is the transformation after the pad (your wall) that bring the result to another place.

other option, move the sketch to the proper position = sketch in position and pad on the sketch (not away). To move a sketch you need to redefine or change the sketch support, and origin/axis.

Thanks Itismyjob,

I chosen the last option, as Doug also advised.

Thank you both again!
