On a piping assembly subject to B31.1, with a design operating temperature of 800°F, a bracket for external attachment of an instrument panel is specified to be welded to the pipe with a 3/8” fillet weld. What examination is required for this weld?
When a 3” NPS branch is welded to the piping assembly in question above and it has a wall thickness of 0.437”, what examination methods are allowed?
I think the answers are found in 136.4 [Note(5)] and Table 136.4 [Note(2)]
If someone can confirm this I would be grateful.
