B31.3 impact testing requirements

We are debating whether ASME B31.3 requires impact testing on all materials of construction even if there is no such requirement in the material specification. Does anyone have experience or an opinion about this?

No B31.3 does not require impact testing of all materials and thicknesses. Impact testing requirements depend upon the material of construction, thickness and level of induced stresses due to pressure loadings. For further details, please see 323.2.2
