Hi everyone,

We have a tested PQR at 5.99mm thick
CVNs were tested subsized with 10x3.3mm @ -65.4C

per table ASME B31.3 323.3 (323.3.4 (b) and Table 323.3.4.-1) the WPS is valid for MDT down to -54.4C with the temperature correction, correct?
the calculations I did were:
- 5.99mm has 8.03C temp correction
- 3.3mm has 19C temp correction
- therefore there is a difference of 11C that needs to be reduced to the MDT.
MDT-temp correction = testing temp
MDT-11=(-65.4)
MDT=-54.4

Agree?

Thanks for the help!

Agreed if you wish to use the term MDT that is fixed by design conditions rather than by Charpy test temperature.
