Autocad also saves copies in a temporary directory that can be accessed. On my machine at the office it is:
"C:\Documents and Settings\kjam\Local Settings\Temp"
The name and extensions are generally part of the original file name and it is not too difficult to sift through the chaff. It also contains a last copy of the document prior to the machine hanging...
Examples...
05199S01_1_1_6334.bak
05199S01_1_1_7090.sv$ <--- Last Copy
This is for file 05199S01.dwg
The copy in this directory (folder) has saved me on numerous occasions.
Thanks dik
I have the autosaves and other temp files going to designated locations. It was just the drawing bak files I wanted to move to another location other than the same directory that the drawing file resided in.
