They have a program for balancing for about $200.00.

I started out using polar plots and then went to the old DOS based balancing programs, but I didn't save the old disks as the new macines became computerized.

If you know anyone who is proficient with Microsoft Excel and you know the formula's, you can make a nice with that.

There are two ways to balance a rotating machine. The first one is the numerical balancing based on drawings. The second one is in-situ or experimental balancing of a manufactured machine. Which one do you have on your mind?

Thanks all for your reponses,
I am looking for a Multi plane, multi-runs, multi-speed program.

"Multi plane, multi-runs, multi-speed program"

Can you enter data manually, or are you looking to have program harvest the data from the analyzer?

Well I reckon for $200 it should come with a free analyser and instrumentation and a training course.

Please see FAQ731-376 for tips on how to make the best use of Eng-Tips.

I found my old Texas Instruments TI-74 hand held computer. It has 1 and 2 plane balancing, trial weight calculator, split or combine weights, static-couple derivation, convert from ACC/VEL/DIS. ect. I would have to copy the program and send to you. It was written in basic, but was never compiled to run in DOS. I use it with an old IRD 335 machine and also to check against some other machines. If you could find an old TI-74 computer on Ebay or somewhere, I could mail you the Ram Chip with the program on it.
