Hello all, I am new to a role where I need to assess the likelihood of certain things happening on our facility. One scenario I have right now is the failure to close of a 2" Air Fail Close Soft Seated actuated ball valve. Is there a source that I can find typical Petro-Chem or Chemical industry accepted typical failure rates please? Thanks for your help.

Thanks.

Steve.

Oreda has limited data available. I suggest using a probability of failure of 1x10-2 which is within an order of magnitude.
If this is a shutdown system, then a dormant model should be used (but you can take credit for partial-stroke-testing, diagnostics etc).
