Balloon Issue - SW2010

Hi all,
I am having an issue with balloons on an ISO view assembly drawing:
When I add balloons to the exploded view, some of the balloons attach to the correct part and show the correct BOM number. When I try to add balloons to the lower half of the assembly, SW can not find and link the leader to the part I am hovering over with the cursor. It seems as though the actual computed position of the components does not match the scale of the view on the drawing.
Has anyone seen this before?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

JW

I recall this happening... try collapsing the exploded view and then re-exploding. Don't know if a bug report was ever initiated... but it was irritating.

Hi Dustin,
That sounded easy enough - and like the culprit.
Didn't work though.
I have had to manually create and number balloons for this drawing.
I have never had this happen before.

Thanks for your help.

Try ballooning it in the collapsed form where possible.

Also, try hovering over where the item would be in the non-exploded state... see if it picks up the edges then.

Probably your solution of "faking" in the balloons will end up being best. I am not sure if it is/was a graphics problem or a software problem.

When I said "Try ballooning it in the collapsed form where possible." I then intended to say re-explode it afterwards.

Yup, got it - thanks.
Collapse, balloon, then explode.
That works for the components that are visible (when collapsed).

Thanks again,

JW
