balloons - windows xp?

We recently updated to windows xp and got new computers. Before, we could make balloons with no problems, but now when we create a balloon, it shows up as a black square until you click on it, then it looks normal. What would cause this? How do you fix it?

We can change the individual balloons to look correct by turning the background off on the balloon, but we can not set this as default

I would guess the Graphics Driver. Look at the list of certified drivers and make sure you are using one of them - that doesn't always mean the latest either.
