Hi all, does anyone have an idea of what to expect on customer cost for a typical bar joist strengthening - 3/4 moment rod stitched on inside of existing joist angles with 2" angle chasing the web? I am seeing LF pricing and the number seems astronomical on labor $75-100/LF). I'd love to know if we need to be thinking outside the box on this subject. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

For stitching the angles to the top and bottom chord, see if you can use intermittent welds to save some costs. Tension diagonal bracing has to be welded to the chords. I usually use 1/2" gap at the ends for Compression diagonal added material. Check with the EOR. Reinforcing is common.
