Back in the Cosmos/M days it was possible to input a few forms of detailed base excitation for use in dynamic analysis in the ASTAR module.
For the last few years Solidworks Simulation seems to offer a means to input a psd spectrum as an external load in a Linear Dynamic Analysis.
I'm working with Solidworks 2007 Office Pro. There does not appear to be any analysis choice capable of this when setting up a study, although nonlinear, drop test, and a few other interesting ones are. A search thru all the cosmosworks help files for linear dynamic analysis, spectrum, or base excitation comes up vry empty.
However There is an ASTAR.dll in the solidworks directory.
Are advanced linear dynamic analysis available in SW/CW 2007? If so I will check my installation again.
In the mean time I'll be looking thru the various "What's new" files to see if there is an announcement for Advanced Linear dynamics //after// SW 2007
thanks
