Hello all,
We have a corrosion problem with the baseplates of a horizontal pressure vessel (ASME stamp) and we need to replace those baseplates. I have the follow question: Is this work a REPAIR according NBIC?

NOte:This work will not affect any pressure retaining element.

Thanks for your comments.

No, this would not require an NBIC Repair in my opinion as the baseplates and other non-pressure components are not under the purview of the ASME code, but if you wanted to you can probably find a contractor that will stamp the vessel and prepare an R-1 form.
