Depends on what you need: for simple continuous beams, a spreadsheet program by Yakov Polyakov linked to in the Engineering Spreadsheet forum is great. For something more involved check thread 507-157098.

For wood and Steel - BeamChek -

Probably the easiest to use but steel beams must be braced at Lc

For pure steel with multiple spans and loading conditons and bracing - try "Beams" by Archon Engineering

Both are inexpensive and easy to use...
