Bearing speed ratings

I have a project that requires taking an unused Monarch lathe that was built with single speed headstock and increasing the speed. Originally it was built for a 200HP DC motor on the input at 2000rpm. I need to put a 50HP AC motor that is 6000rpm on the input. I am concerned about the speed ratings of the bearings in the headstock. The headstock is lubricated with oil that is pumped to various points. The bearings are Timken but Timken have not been helpful. The Timken numbers are:
cup 394A
cone 390 class 2
cup 39520B
cone 39580 class 2
Please advise..

If they told you that you probably can't go that fast with those bearings they WERE being helpful.

Do you have a drawing of the headstock innards ?

Timken took 3 days to reply. I finally got hold of someone else at Timken and he called back with a speed rating of 4100rpm in oil.
Yes I have the innards on paper.

May I see the headstock design? I'd be glad to offer an opinion.

Sure, only problem is the print is a large print and I have no way of reducing.

A link was provided which answered the question.

Although that thread applied to needle bearings, it was the same manufacturer. Don't know if it has your answer but I figured I'd mention it.

photocopy a few panels using a reducing copier, then fax, or scan and e-mail?

Yes, it is I.
After a Google ego search I have determined I may be the DTimberlake that wastes time online, or naively leaves his indentity unprotected.

You may have noticed I still like to hear/see myself talk.

I hear you. I am in the same boat as far as talking a lot. And I prefer to be anonymous because
1 - it’s easier to ask dumb questions that way
2 – you never know when you will be called to court for normal work related stuff and the lawyers could search internet posts to find opportunities to destroy your credibility.
