benchmark test

hello folk. i am task with performing bench mark test on abaqus to evaluate if it is a good switch from nastran for my company. we specialize in fem fracture mechanics work, and hear that abaqus is superior for crack grow simulation. any one have similar background or know best way to compare software results for simple case?

You could run some NAFEMS fracture mechanics benchmarks first. Abaqus has many example problems, verification tests and benchmarks in its documentation as well.

Surely, there are also differences in available features. Abaqus offers many special functionalities for fracture mechanics like powerful XFEM.
