Hello-

I am using solidworks 2006 SP4.1. I am having some trouble with the flat pattern drawing of a mirrored sheetmetal part. The software lets me make the flat pattern view but it will not let me put the bed notes in.

Does anyone have any ideas or experience with this problem.

Thanks in advance.

Works fine for me with SW06-SP5.1 and SW07-SP2.

How are you trying to apply the Bend Notes?

[cheers]

I've still been working with it since i wrote the post. I realized the part that i am working with is a mirrored image of an imported part. This may have something to do with it. Otherwise it could be that i need to update my service pack.

As far as how i am trying to apply the bend notes:

Normally i just create the view and select flat pattern and the bend notes just appear. With this part i create the flat pattern veiw and then the bend notes dont appear. Then i try to go to the properties of the veiw and check the bend not box and the box is grayed out.

?????

Does the imported part show up with all the features of a Sheet Metal part?

If it just an imported body the Bend Notes will not be applied because SW does not recognize it as a M part.

An Imported or dumb solid will not have bend data in it and if you just mirrored off a dumb solid that too will not have any data in it... to be honest I am not sure if you mirrored a SM part that did have data in it if you would get that info, because it too is some what stupid. Simply because its getting its info from a another file (parent). But I might be mistaken on that... but I know if a dumb solid has no data into the mirror or child will not either.
