How do I show in a drawing, the bend line of a bent profiled bar....(not folded as in sheet metal)I know how to suppress the bends, create sketches in the drawing and draw in the line by 'hand' but wondered if inventor can 'flatten' or similar to show my part in the flat state for the fabricator?

many thanks in advance

Nope.. :(
manual I'm afraid..

I'm assuming by bent profiled bar you just mean a rod thats been bent (bend part) or a swept profile

You could do an ipart with one member suppressing the bend part feature to allow you to quickly toggle between bent and not bent.. but the line would still need to be shown..
Personally I NEVER include flat patterns of anything.. I only show finished and let the fabricator figure out how to make the part per the drawing.. Their job is to produce the part as formed..

Hi mcgyvr, cheers for that, I guessed that would be the case, fabricators mitherin me, ill end up doing the job myself [shadessad]
