Bentley Autopipe Question

Hello all,

I am trying to edit a piping system model in Autopipe.
I want to change to orientation of the 3 pipes marked in red.
Now, those pipes are parallel to the Y direction, but I want them to be parallel to the Z direction (rotate in 90°)

I am new to Autopipe so I guess there is simple way to do it, but I can't figure out how.

Thanks,

Hi Idan. I’m happy to show/help you but it’s a bit difficult through a forum. AutoPIPE is a bit quirky with these kind of things at first but once you get the hang of it, it’s a quite good I think. Their (online) forum and help are also quite good. Are you in Amsterdam by any chance this week for B31?

Hi!
Thanks!

Unfortunately I am not in Amsterdam for the B31 week

I haven't used Autopipe in a while but I'll give it a shot.

You would select all the nodes that need to be rotated (the pipes marked in blue plus everything downstream of it) and then use the rotate function. The base point for rotation would a point on the pipe that sits in the X direction coming out of the flange.

Then you would rotate about the X-axis using the right hand rule. Assuming you want those pipes to point in the positive Z-direction you would rotate positive 90 degrees about the X-axis.

I would change your display settings so that the nodes are shown, its easier to see what you're selecting.
