Best Detailing for Width-varies beam

Good Afternoon,
I have several beams which vary in length along the span for architectural reasons. These are not transfer beams and support pretty modest loads from the slab.
I would be inclined to design the beam for the minimum section width and add extra bars to make up the difference, allowing these to drop off at the change in section width, and reducing the stirrup cage width at this point.
Does anyone have a way that they prefer to detail this, or that might be more correct / easier to build? I've attached a sketch just to show what i mean.

Thanks so much!

For beam depth equal to slab thickness in a flat plate system, you should provide embed beams around the opening. For beam stem deeper than slab, maintain the beam width, and same as above, provide embed beams around the opening.

I think that is the way to do it. It’s what I’ve done in the past - simply design a narrow beam through the span and then add secondary/supplemental stirrups and longitudinal bars to tie in the partial length wider beam which simply goes along for the ride.
