I'm a power electronics engineer with most of my experience in switch-mode power supplies and analog. I have little DC brushless motor experience or DSP experience. Can anyone recommend a few of the best (in your opinion) text books and/or other sources so I can educate myself somewhat? I usually buy from Amazon.com. I'm a member of IEEE - not sure if I save money buying from them.

Thanks

OneChance, are you only or primarily interested in learning about BLDC motors and controllers, or other types as well?

IEEE is an excellent resource, and membership is very, very well worth it if you want any of their papers, transactions, or books.

I've thought of re-joining, but don't have any pressing need. Some employers will pay or reimburse membership fees.

Please let us all know how this works out for you! and don't forget faq731-376

Thanks for everyones' help. I downloaded the application notes from microchip and they are great. I will also look for the paper, books, etc., from IEEE. I was a care giver for paralyzed wife for 14 years. Before that I was a power electronics engineer and had a great career. Now it seems impossible to get re-employed. I know I can do the work if just given a chance. Thanks again to everyone here!
