When checking for collisions with the sound option on, all I hear is an anemic "ding". I would like to replace it with a more robust car crash or other sound file. Do any of you know how to change this sound?

Incidentally, the very good help system failed me here.

No there is no way to change that sound that I have found. I guess your going to have to enjoy the default beep that it makes.

I don't think the help has anything to do with it failing you here. Its just not an option.

When in doubt, always check the help

I would think there's some sort of sound file that get's played for this.
I just looked in my SolidWorks folders and didn't find anything, but maybe it's a windows file?
I'd bet - if you can find the right one - you can change it.
Or you could get one of those novelty whistles and blow it real loud every time you hear a beep. [tongue]

SolidWorks uses the Windows "Default Beep" to play this sound. If you go into your Windows Control Panel under sounds, there should be a setting for the sound file used for 'default beep'.

By the way, don't use too long of a sound - on my system I can't do anything else until it finishes playing.
