HELLO,   I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF BIOMEDICAL EQUIPMENT REPAIR TECHNICIAL IS THE SAME AS BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING?  ALSO PLEASE GIVE ME SOME TIPS ON HOW TO ENTER INTO THE BIOMEDICAL CARRER.  THERE ARE NOT ANY BIOMEDICAL SCHOOLS IN MY AREA.  SO I PLAN TO GO TO A 2 YEAR TECH SCHOOL FOR ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING.  IS THIS A GOOD START?   ALSO ARE THERE ANY MEDICAL EQUIPMENT COMPANIES THAT IS WILLING TO TRAIN NEW PEOPLE? (SUCH AS OEC,GEMED,HOLOGIC,etc.)  I NEED ALL THE TIPS I CAN GET TO GET STARTED ON A NEW CARRER.  THANKS.    SUSAN

From my experience, a BMET is more of a Clinical Engineer, that would be in a hospital atmosphere repairing the medical equipment. A Biomedical Engineer is more of research and development than repair. If you looking for the technical repair then you should look into BMET training. I know the military has some very good BMET training and certification. Hope that helps.
