Blending Problems

I ve some problem with blends.
I have two sets of faces.
One set is planar for example , on the other set I have four faces 1 and 4 planar and face 2 and 3 connect the set (face 1 one and four) with small fillets ( blends ... like an S ). For my problem I want to fillet this to sets with a bigger radi as the small fillets on the second set.
The fillet function aborts because of geometric problems.
The fillet works only in the planar sections. Can NX solve the
problem with the small fillets on the second set? Is there a setting?

I don't think you will be able to sweep a fillet along the edge of a smaller fillet, if I understand your problem correctly.

Can you post a picture....if not...the only thing I can think to try is a Face Blend instead. Hard to tell without seeing the part.

you understood it correctly.
The reason is that is my daily trouble.The set with smaller filets are reference.
In V5 for example the fillet function breaks this zone with
creating small help faces like setback fillet in NX.
I think NX can do the same. Is there a trick or a special setting?

Without seeing the part or having it to work with, it's almost impossible to figure out what might be causing the fillet to fail. I understand the problem you're describing, but still, not being able to see it makes it very difficult to offer a valid solution.

Are you working with non-parametric or imported data in this area?

If you're not working with imported data, are the 2 blends part of the same feature (2 different edge sets in one blend feature) or are they completely separate features?

If the blends are of the same feature, what happens when you apply the larger blend first then the smaller blend or vice versa? Make SURE you're applying them as 2 separate blends, not the same blend.

If the blend fails, NX should give you some sort of feedback or message describing why it's failing. What sort of message are you getting? Did you try changing some of the Edge Blend settings? Did you try applying a smaller radius than you wanted just to see if it would work? Maybe the radius value is just too big for the geometry or the adjacent faces are not of a good quality to begin with.
