Hello,

ASME B16.5 flanges have same thicknesses for blind and WN (for example: WN-RF #300 3" T=28,6mm, blind BL-RF #300 3" T=28,6mm).

Why for B16.47 flanges is different? (for example: B16.47-B WN-RF #300 60" T=150,9mm, blind BL-RF #300 60" T=166,6mm).

I mean, I know why (maybe the fact that diameters are larger), but where could I find an engineering explation, maybe with a stress analysis?

Thanks
