Hello All:
I'm in the process of developing an injector controller for my Volvo 940T. I don't want to get into a long drawn out explanation of my project but am willing to discuss with anyone, later.
My question is, does anyone know the flow rates or any specs on the Bosch 0280 170 031 cold start injector that's used on BMW 325i's? I've searched all over and found a place that provides that injector but they only use their number, which gets me nowhere.
Can anyone help? I'd really appreciate any info you can provide.
Thanks and regards,
Bill

What year 325? I'm not aware of any one using cold start injectors in decades.

Hello:
Thanks for the response. I don't know what year the 325 is but it's probably an '85 or so. The only reason I'm using that device is because I found it at a pick and pull wrecking yard and it physically fitted my needs, which brings us back to my original question: how much does it flow? If it doesn't flow enough for my needs obviously I'll keep searching till I find something.
I hope you have the numbers I asked for and thanks again for your response.
Regards,
Bill

I doubt anyone has flow data for a cold start injector other than Bosch and they aren't likely to provide that info.

In addition the unit you have could be corroded or ??? after 20+ years. That being said any injector repair shop should be able to flow this unit on their fuel flow rig as they do with normal injectors and provide a curve at different pressures. Otherwise it's just a wild guess.

Yep

Get it flowed. That is the only way you know for sure, especially with old injectors

Pat

Hello All:
Thanks for the advice. I intend to take to the shop where I've had other injectors serviced on Thursday but, being somewhat impatient I thought I'd ask.
Thanks again,
Bill
