Boiler drum and Ends with different material! 3

Hallo all , as said due to the material availability , we have alloy steel Shell WB36 and the Ends P355GH . Have anybody done this combisnation or any thoughts what should be the checklist?

What Code or Standard are you building this to ?

In the USA we have the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code...

There are many MANDATORY sets of rules in many countries that are enforced by rule of law..

ALL OF THESE RULES CONTAIN LISTS OF APPROVED MATERIALS AND WELDING METHODS... !!!

It is insane to leave the selection of materials and welding methodology up to strangers on the internet ....

Hi Cronin!It is for the Boiler Drum with European norm.

WB36 is equivalent to SA 306 GrB or A & P355GH equivalent is SA 516. Never used a material combination other than nozzles with different material on drum.

Regarding Welding : Being a process & presure part enginner, knowledge on welding is so poor. So lloking for the advice how to say that welding this two material is ok?

The first step is admitting you don't know something about welding. That is not sarcasm, that is my conclusion after dealing with a career's worth of professional engineers who think they do.
So I suggest you get a welding engineer or metallurgist involved. That will cost money but give better outcomes than the interweb.

Not being sarcastic either, but you can’t be a ‘pressure parts engineer’ without knowing a thing or two on the basics of welding engineering.

I'm not overly familiar with EN 12952, however part 5 and 6 both refer to EN ISO 15614, so qualify your welding procedures according to this standard, and get the guy that does the qualifications to help you with the preparations.

Hallo all , anyidea where can i find the filler material (weld metal) for this dissimilar weld? May be an european norm reference would be acceptable! Many thanks!
 
If I'm not mistaken, WB36 has copper in it.
Again, retain someone who knows what he's doing. This is no walk in the park. Hydrogen cracks, hotcracks, all kinds of things can go wrong.
The interwebz will probably suggest Mn-Mo fillers, which is a possibility but you'll need thermal prescriptions as well.

We have the weld expert who takes responsibilities of this stuff. This weld consumables are written down in the pressure püart drawing. i would like to understand this stuf!
WB36 ; Cu = 0,50-0,80
 
Tables 10.4.2 and .3 give indeed temp and time recommendations, however use with caution, have your specialist carefully select both parameters (as well as up and down slope and start/end temp) as these tables are not trying to replace metallurgical advice, they're merely a guideline for a number of standard cases. They also do not give advice regarding hydrogen bake out or when an annealing/temper treatment is necessary.

Our statements don't contradict, and I am not against sharing knowledge. As a welding engineer I don't presume to attempt pressure parts engineering although I know some things about it.
(By 'pressure parts engineer’ do you mean 'design engineer’?)
