Hi
Can we use the following materials for a boiler feed pump working at

Flow 30m3/hr
Head 31 bar
Temperature 120deg C
Medium Boiler feed water pH 8.5-9.5 temp 120deg C

Pump casing material  EN-GJL-250
Pump impeller material Steel CrNi 1.4301

What material is usually recommended for the pump casing and pump impeller for a boiler feed pump?

Thks

What material is usually recommended ...?

'usually recommended' is not a sound approach to design. Call in pump manufacturer for technical support or retain a boiler designer.

Electrical Engineers selecting expensive boiler feed pumps .....

3D CAD designers and clerks developing single line electrical drawings ....

Metalurgists designing structural steel frames and concrete foundations ...

Thanks out there to all the expensive Business Schools and MBA graduates !!!

Lets all repeat their credo together !!!

Tell me about it ... Welding Engineer is the most heavily poached specialty within and without engineering.
I haven't yet met an MBA who impressed me, but I thank them daily for ensuring I have a supply of failure analysis work within the first year of a plant's operation.

There are many types of boiler feedwater pumps and often times several types will suit a particular duty.

Corrosion resistance and low NPSH operating conditions will increase the prices considerably.

The degree of oxygen and CO2 removal (DA performance) and your clients pile of money (budget) will strongly affect your selection)

A competent Mechanical engineer has many considerations to balance when selecting the best BFW pump.

Many of the types of BFW pumps on the market are listed here:

We are replacing an existing pump of flow 21 m3/hr by 30 m3/hr. This is because we need more flow. The pump is in operation since 2015.
We have got several quotes. The quote of the OEM is 1.8x quote of other suppliers. Different suppliers have quoted different materials.
We are not designing a new boiler feed pump.

The OEM has quoted the following material:

Pump casing material CS WCB
Pump impeller material WCB MOC

Other supplier has quoted the following material:

Pump casing material  EN-GJL-250
Pump impeller material Steel CrNi 1.4301

You need a material engineer.

Guess you don't have one.

Google the specs to get the equivalents. Match with the existing pump material.

Then go ahead and buy if you get a match, else re-tender.
