Boiler Inspections 1

We have several high pressure steam plants in states that have inspection requirements but the City juristiction that the plant is located in does NOT require annual inspections. Is there an ASME code that will superseed this so I can push the issue of having internal and external inspections completed on all HP boilers and other ASME stamped un-fired pressure vessels?

Have you investigated the State statutes ?

What does your insurance company say about this situation ?

I'm confused. City statutes never nullify state laws. If the state requires inspection, then it must be performed no matter what the city says. If there is any confusion, have your company attorney render an opinion. That should support having the inspections performed.

I would worry more about what your insurance carrier said than your attorney unless you are self insured.
