The "Templates for Drilling" tables in ASME B16.5 (2020) include columns for stud bolt and machine bolt lengths. Do these values apply to all flange types, including lapped?

There's no note to indicate that these values don't apply to all flange types, but Appendix C in B16.5 indicates that a different equation is used for lapped joints, so I would expect a different value.

(I asked a similar question about bolt lengths in ASME B16.47, in that case it turned out I missed a note specifying the values only applied to weld neck flanges. I don't see any similar note in ASME B16.5 though)

It looks that the extra dimension detail as stated in the Appendix C of the B16.5 is listed as required to include specifically for the lapped flange joint, which isn't indicated in the Section 2 or the flange dimension tables.

Given that tf for lapped flanges is higher plus you need the height of the backing ring, then it will be a lot bigger.

Maybe the authors thought this was in the "bleeding obvious" range?

Thanks @mk3223 and @LittleInch. That makes sense.
