hi.....
i am having two plates of size 2m(length)*0.5m(width)*0.2m(height) each. and i m going to join them
(2m*0.2m cross sectional area of plates in contact) by three large sized bolts of length 1m and dia 80mm with some preload.
this assembly is then subjected to alternate external load at left and right side plates in vertical direction( over area 2m*0.5m of each plate).
the requirement here is that the two plates should not separate from each other and also i have to determine the required preload in all bolts which will sustain external 10000T load.
my question is what should i check in simulation results so that i can able to say that these plates will not separate and can sustain external high load and select bolt material accordingly.
please help...........

Find your max load and do a static analysis with the preloaded bolts.
After that see the deformation with a big magnification factor (around 100) and you'll see if they separate and by how much and if it is everywhere or not.
