Having a bolted flange for heavy applications subjected to bending due to an external load i determined the loaction of the neutral axis through the Reinforced concrete structure theory. This method DOES NOT allow to consider the bolt preload. The life prediction of the bolts is anyway pretty close to experimental results. Does anyone have suggestions on other method i could use to determine the stress distribution on the flange in order to accomplish a better confidence in my results?

any help is appreciated
